The innovation project InProReg, which stands for Innovative Production Region, intends to create competitiveness in the production industry through the development and utilisation of modern production technology across the German-Danish border.

In recent years, there has been a trend in the German border region of relocating workplaces in the traditional production industry. On the basis of this relocation, a strategy has been introduced to maintain regional competitiveness in production through the use of new production systems and changed approaches to the control of supply chains.20170922_InProReg

Through the InProReg project, a platform will be created to strengthen regional competitiveness in production by using new systems and smart approaches to the control of supply chains, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises. This will be achieved by strengthening modern automated production systems and innovative approaches to product development.

Project activities:

  • 1st phase: Build up knowledge about innovative production. This will happen by developing application-oriented concepts for product systems and establishing models for innovative product development. The possibility of German-Danish production will also be examined.
  • 2nd phase: Support business development in cross-border production using an improved competence base in production; develop innovative technology demonstrators; and facilitate innovation projects and create network and cluster activities.

RoboCluster has handed over the project to TEK Innovation, who is project leader of Work Package 4 (WP 4). The overarching aim of creating cross-border networks for instruction and education, and stimulating business development by supporting innovative and competitive regional production, particularly in small and medium-sized enterprises.

Expected results
There is expected to be a development of technology demonstrators and the facilitation of innovation projects that focus on the development of new concepts in production.
Concretely, this will result in:

  • 2-4 technology demonstrators developed in collaboration with industrial network partners
  • Development of innovation projects where companies and research institutions collaborate on the development of new regionally based production concepts
  • Delivery of at least 15 seminars and workshops on topic areas, which will be selected during the project based on indications about the needs of industry.

The project has a total budget of 3,170,82 EUR of which the Interreg 5a programme, which supports cross-border collaboration, and the European Fund for Regional Development are contributing 1,860,971 EUR.

The project runs from 1st January 2017 until 31st December 2019.
